Live gaming platform specialists Evolution Gaming continue their march signing Sky Betting and Gaming to their platform.
Sky Betting and Gaming is a subsidiary of London based satellite television company BSkyB and provides gambling services under license from the UK gambling commission. Primarily a sports betting operation under the brand Sky Betting, the company has decided to expand its offering to include live casino gaming.
The deal gives Sky access to Evolution's live casino platform - including live roulette, blackjack and baccarat played via video stream, and provides Evolution with yet another big name licensee to add to their rapidly growing list. In the past 12 months, the likes of 888.com, Unibet, Blue Square and Party Gaming have all signed up to Evolution's platform in preference to offerings from Microgaming, Playtech and some of the smaller niche players in the industry.
Evolution's continued success in signing betting organisations with large customer bases and a good understanding of what the playing market wants, is also a strong indication that the live dealer format is continuing to gain traction in the European online gambling market. Already popular with Asian players, European players have until recently been slow to adopt the live game offering.
According to a representative from Evolution Gaming, it seems the format is becoming increasingly popular with high-rollers in particular, who are reticent to trust RNG games with large bet amounts.
