Unibet are the latest in a growing line of online sports betting operators to add an iPhone betting platform to their offering.
The new iPhone platform will be powered by Swedish betting and gaming software developers Mobenga, who from all reports have been very busy of late. The Unibet deal comes hot on the heals of a deal with Nordicbet.com, also for iPhone betting services, as well a sub-licensing arrangement with mobile betting platform provider Orbis Tecnology.
Orbis' OpenBet technology powers the mobile betting systems for a who's who of big brand sports books, including Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, Blue Square and William Hill. Presumably Mobenga's deal with Orbis will see their iPhone platform used to power at least some, possibly all of these large operators.
Unibet's CEO said of the new addition to their betting offering,
'We see the mobile channel as an extremely exciting and important growth area and we are committed to providing our customers with the best possible solutions to enjoy our market-leading offer via their mobile phones'
Christian Rajter, Mobenga's CEO sang the praises of the iPhone as a delivery mechanism highlighting its intuitiveness as a big plus for those using their platform to place bets at Unibet and other sportsbooks.
